Gaea is the personification of the Earth itself. She is the Great Mother of All Creation, giving birth to Uranus (god) (the sky), Ourea (the mountains), and Pontus (the sea) via asexual reproduction.
She and Uranus then became lovers, and she bore the Titan gods, as well as the Cyclopes (giant creatures with one eye), the Hecatonchires (literally the 'hundred-handed ones', creatures with 100 arms and 50 heads), the Meliae (tree nymphs), the Erinyes (the Furies), and the Gigantes (giants).
By her son Pontus she birthed the sea deities Nereus, Thaumas, Phorcys, Ceto, and Eurybia.
By her brother Tartarus she gave birth to Typhon, the giant serpentine dragon with 100 snake heads.
