- synodic
- The amount of time required for a given body to return to a given position relative to Earth.
- sidereal
- The time required for a given body to return to the same position relative to the stars.
- albedo
- the proportion of the incident light or radiation that is reflected by a surface, typically that of a planet or moon
- conjunction
- an alignment of two planets or other celestial objects so that they appear to be in the same, or nearly the same, place in the sky.
- Perennial
- blooms for one season each year
- Biennial
- grows for two years, but only blooms for one season in the second year
- Annual
- only lives for one season and then dies
- Deciduous
- hardwood trees that shed their leaves in the winter
- Coniferous
- trees that stay green year round (aka evergreens), usually have needle-shaped leaves
- tynged
- A tynged is the Welsh equivalent of the Irish geis, similar to being under a vow, curse or spell.
- tynghedau
- plural of 'tynged' - a spell or curse
